Youtube video over 10 minutes?

So i made a YouTube account and i made a video that was 20 hours (I know it is a little crazy) and i uploaded it and it got taken off because it is "to long". I have seen videos on YouTube that are 40 hours long but YouTube says videos can't be over 15 minutes! How do i LEGALLY upload a video over 15 minutes? I have heard something about a 'Director's Account' but i don't really know what that is. So what can i do?
