Will Assassin's Creed:Director's cut work with a HP Pavilion dv5 laptop?

A friend of mine is addicted to the series, and I think it looks interesting, but the Steam version says only a certain chipset works. They mention it may work on laptops, but it's not supported. Can anyone tell me if the game will work on my laptop? Thanks in advance for any information!
